Social media has become the best marketing tool of the 21st century. After all, why chase consumers' attention when you can meet them where they're already spending their time?

While social media marketing is a new science, I have been successful in using TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to create a highly effective social media communications campaign for Speak Strategic client, Joe Cunningham.

I took over as Social Media Manager for Joe Cunningham's campaign in January of 2022. I started closely analyzing the success of his posts, finding correlations between social media engagement and website success, identifying social media trends and figuring out how to manipulate them to match Joe's campaign brand, and maintained a strict social media calendar that took each platform's user demographics into account.
In just eight months, we grew Joe's platform to an additional:

4,692 followers on Facebook,

9,082 followers on Twitter,

16,459 followers on Instagram, and

44,764 followers on TikTok.

After I began implementing trends and creating content for each platform tailor-made to that platform's target audience, we began seeing a massive spike in engagement and are still accumulating about 4,000 new followers weekly - one video even gaining a total of 2.2 million views and almost 300,000 likes.
In July of 2022, my work on Joe Cunningham's social media platforms was featured in a USA Today article discussing how politicians are successfully utilizing "Gen Z humor" and social media trends to reach a younger demographic of voters.
